Becoming a BSK Instructor

All applications are dependant on the following criteria: -

  • All applicants must reside in the UK
  • All applicants must be of British citizenship
  • You must be at least 18 years of age to become a coach or instructor
  • All successful applicants will undergo a CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) check
  • To become an instructor you must have at least 5 years regular practice in your style
  • To become a coach you must have at least 4 years regular practice in you style
  • All applicants must be 100% medically fit
  • All successful applicants must be insured, as well as insuring all their students

 

Upon successful completion of your initial application form, you will be sent via post or email a full information pack on the BSK and the following courses with details on how to enrol: -

  • Coaching certificate
  • Instructing certificate
  • Health & Safety certificate
  • First Aid certificate
  • Child safety/protection certificate
  • BSK registered Kyu assessor
  • BSK registered “Medium Contact” referee/judge (for competition)

 

We will also send you details on the following “must have” insurances: -

  • Professional negligence
  • Personal accident
  • Public liability
  • Injury/accident insurance (only for competing in “medium contact” competitions)
